We're a little over a week away from an anniversary... actually a pretty big one in manned space flight. The first Saturn V rocket was launched on November 9, 1967. Compared to launch vehicles up to that time, nothing had ever left the Earth quite like it. The first flight was a complete success (all 13 flights were successful, with some problems on Apollo 6 and 13). As part of the Cape set I've been working on a lot of footage surrounding those early days of launch complex 39, built to launch the Saturn V. And I've collected a decent amount of HD footage from various pad cameras. Here's one of my favorites... I just love the colors in this one. It is from Apollo 13, Camera E-72.
No audio as it is a slo-motion clip, but it is in HD, so make it full screen and enjoy.
Our Saturn V set is available now at a special price, and today only (10/28) you can get an additional 10% off your entire order by using the discount code "TEN" when you checkout.
